Changes to Timekeeping / Payroll Support Model Announced
As part of the finance transformation initiative underway within the organization, a review of the timekeeping and payroll support model was performed and a new model is being implemented; bringing greater efficiency to our organization. Changes take effect with the pay period starting April 27. All employees should understand what their responsibilities are for accurate time reporting and pay.

CHANGE: OneCare Cerner Wave 3 Go-Live Date
The OneCare Cerner Wave 3 go-live scheduled for June 14 will be moved to a later date due to an expansion of our pre-launch testing period. PTO restrictions for staff surrounding this June date can now be lifted. All Cerner training sessions have been temporarily suspended. The OneCare project team is working quickly to set a new go-live date and training schedule.

PCP Selection Campaign Concludes; Employees Receiving Gift Cards
More than 51 percent of all CHI employees/dependents enrolled in the CHI Medical Plan selected a primary care provider (PCP) during the recent campaign. If you participated, you will receive an email from “e-gifts” with information on how to redeem your gift cards. The gift cards can be redeemed in three different amounts ($5, $15, $20) based on your participation level, and there are multiple merchants from which to choose.

Welcome Health Coaches!
To bring wellness, healing and hope to all is the Purpose statement of KentuckyOne Health. As part of that mission, KentuckyOne has launched a health coaching pilot program at four KentuckyOne primary care physician offices. Health coaches are nurses or other health professionals who work with patients with chronic conditions to provide education and support during the journey to a healthier lifestyle. Health coaching is one component of KentuckyOne’s Care Management Redesign initiative.

KentuckyOne Employees Give-A-Day at SOS
On April 15, as part of Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer’s annual Give-A-Day volunteer event, 15 KentuckyOne employees helped Supplies Over Seas to pack donated medical supplies headed for a third-world nation. As an SOS recycling partner, KentuckyOne Health regularly donates surplus or expired medical supplies and equipment.

Doug Jones Named New Regional Chief Information Officer
Doug Jones is the new regional chief information officer (RCIO) for KentuckyOne Health. Doug most recently worked in independent consulting where he helped health care clients with IT strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and clinical informatics. Prior to consulting, Doug was the CIO for the California Region of Providence Health and Services. Doug began his new role March 31.

The FBI recently released a report for health care facilities in Kentucky to be aware of an increase in telephone hoaxes. Coincidently, a colleague in Arkansas just received a telephone call from “Sarah,” who claimed she was from support services.
