A Gift Knit with Love
Every day in her home in Texas, Maxine Peterman knits three soft crocheted hats. She began this project five years ago when her daughter-in-law, Judy, was suffering from breast cancer, and she wanted to help. She sent a few hats to her son, Ted, in Louisville, to give to his wife. On Feb. 23, Mary Anne Tinnell of the Foundation helped distribute hundreds of these beautifully colored crocheted caps to the M. Krista Loyd Resource Center at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center and to patients on the University of Louisville Hospital Stem Cell Unit.
