Give Peer Recognition to Teammates;
You All Could Win
 

Honoring the important work we do together, the KentuckyOne employee recognition program is celebrating National Health Care Week with a special month-long promotion. The “Give One for the Team” campaign encourages you to send peer-to-peer recognition to a KentuckyOne employee. Participate and you could win extra points this month in two ways: 

Across all of KentuckyOne, the single department with the highest percentage of peer-to-peer recognition will win 100 points for each department employee.  

At each facility, the department with the highest percentage of peer-to-peer recognition will receive 5,000 points to share among the team.

New Contest: Win a Trip by Referring a New Employee    

Your friend could get a new job and you could get out of town with a new contest through the KentuckyOne employee referral program. When you refer a successful candidate for key positions (nurses, therapists, other clinicians and more), you will be entered to win a trip to Cancun, San Diego or Las Vegas. Two winners will be drawn at random. 

The person you refer must put your name on his/her job application as the referring employee. Successful job candidates must start work from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2015, for you to be eligible for the travel contest.

Healthy Spirit Weight Loss Challenge
Sign-ups Begin May 18
 

KentuckyOne Health and CHI employees have spoken! The voting is over and of the three challenges to choose from: water challenge, nutrition challenge or weight loss challenge, you decided it is time to shed those extra pounds! The Weight Loss Challenge will be the first Healthy Spirit Challenge for 2015.  

Employees on the KentuckyOne or CHI insurance plan can earn $50 in their Health Equity Account for successful completion of the challenge. Your next step is to sign up through My Healthy Spirit any time from May 18-31. The challenge will run from June 1-July 12

Our Lady of Peace Kicks Off Green Team Efforts on Earth Day 

Our Lady of Peace (OLOP) kicked off its Green Team efforts on April 22. Three recycling containers were placed in front of the cafeteria that day to get employees used to them. They were filled to the brim during a single lunch hour.  

“The employees did a phenomenal job!” according to Sharon Shepherd, a health care sustainability specialist with Stericycle, the waste stream management firm helping KentuckyOne facilities to safeguard the environment. “They filled those containers with plastics, aluminum cans, newspapers, junk mail, and papers that didn’t contain patient information.”

ROSE Award Winner Named at Flaget 

Heather Jackson, emergency department clerk, has received the Rose Award at Flaget Memorial Hospital for the first quarter. Heather was nominated by Leah Edelen, RN, for her work ethic, efficiency, professionalism and relationship with other employees. The ROSE Award is a Flaget program which honors non-nursing personnel and complements the DAISY Award program, which honors nurses.

Volunteers Needed for Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament 

The Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation's annual golf scramble is Monday, June 8, at University Club of Kentucky. Volunteers are needed for various duties throughout the tournament. The funds raised from this exciting event will be used to further the mission and outreach services of Saint Joseph Hospital, Saint Joseph East and Saint Joseph Jessamine.
