KentuckyOne to Receive More than $1 Million for Using Electronic Health Record 

Because many KentuckyOne physicians and nurse practitioners adopted the use of the federally-mandated Ambulatory Electronic Health Record (AEHR) in 2013, KentuckyOne will receive $1,075,520 in reimbursement from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Race to the Finish and Designate Your PCP by May 26 

Choose your PCP by May 26 through the My Healthy Spirit website. You can find a variety of primary care providers to choose from in your area. If you already have a PCP, simply designate their name on the site. For this last mile of our designate-a-PCP campaign, our goal is 17,000 signees. For each 2,500-person milestone reached by May 26, we will hold a drawing for an iPad.

Move Your Spirit Fitness Challenge to Kick Off; Registration Ends May 9 

The Move Your Spirit fitness challenge kicks off May 12 to June 8. Employees can earn 50 wellness incentive points by participating. Registration is open now through May 9 on the My Healthy Spirit website. The challenge includes tracking your steps and exercise minutes. Fitbit devices are being offered at discounted prices (while supplies last).

Healthy Lifestyle Center Opening  

KentuckyOne Health is launching a new concept in prevention and wellness with the opening of three Healthy Lifestyle Centers in 2014. These centers will provide medically supervised exercise, nutrition counseling, stress management and more to help people get and stay healthy. The newest center will open at Medical Center Jewish Northeast on May 12. The Healthy Lifestyle Center at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital will open in late summer.

Saint Joseph London Expands Outpatient Imaging Services 

Saint Joseph London is expanding its outpatient imaging services with the acquisition of the Imaging Center of London. The center’s name will transition to KentuckyOne Health Imaging but the location will remain at 148 London Mountain View Drive, Suite 1, in London. The same qualified staff will continue to provide excellent service to patients.

Three medical professionals with KentuckyOne connections have been named as finalists for the Annual MediStar Awards in Louisville, Kentucky: Alice Bridges, vice president of healthy communities; Donald Miller, MD, director of the James Graham Brown Cancer Center; and Toni Ganzel, MD, dean of University of Louisville Medical School. The awards honor health care professionals' achievements in advocacy, innovation, leadership and more.

Musicians to Perform for KentuckyOne Patients in Louisville 

Kristen Hughes has seen the magic that happens when patients enjoy live music. The director of The Kentucky Center Arts in Healing Program was watching a singer/guitarist perform at Frazier Rehab. The tune was a Beatles’ favorite: “Let it Be.” Pretty soon a stroke patient and his family members were sobbing. Tears can be healing, she said.
