Update on iOS 7 Issues
Action: Do not upgrade Apple devices to iOS 7.0.2 yet
Apple users who upgraded to iOS 7.0.2 continue to report problems with sending text messages, shorter battery life and logging out of applications earlier than expected. Some users report occasional difficulties receiving emails and viewing calendars and contacts. Some users with motion sensitivities become dizzy when apps zoom in and out of view; one possible solution is to turn on the “reduce motion” setting (Settings>General>Accessibility>Reduce Motion).
CHI ITS is asking iPhone and iPad users to wait to upgrade to any new iOS version until the Technical Services team can test the upgrade and confirm it works with CHI’s infrastructure. Please do not activate any upgrade until you receive a notice from CHI ITS. For more information, contact the ITS Service Desk, 866.236.0441 (let the analyst know if you upgraded your device to iOS 7).
New ITS Service Desk
Telephone Menu Options
Starting Oct. 28, the ITS Service Desk phone menu will change to help ITS more quickly route calls to the analyst best able to help. Physicians will have the option to talk to an analyst who specializes in physician issues or to leave a message about a broken device. Options for calls regarding clinical and patient care applications, password resets, and general IT devices and non-patient care applications will also be available.
For immediate ITS support, including critical or high-priority requests, call the ITS Service Desk, 866.236.0441 or 720.875.7500 (in Denver). For routine questions or issues that do not require immediate attention, visit the ITS Service Desk page on Inside CHI for an easy-to-use menu of do-it-yourself (DIY) tools.
To track the status of a request, write down the ITS Service Desk ticket number and pass it along to the person on the next shift or to your supervisor. Track requests using the “Track Your Incident Status” link in the do-it-yourself tools section of the ITS Service Desk page on Inside CHI.
