A Message from John Petrov, SVP,
Chief Human Resources Officer

It’s that time of year again! Time to examine your benefit selections for 2019 during our Annual Enrollment period, Oct. 10-31. You can actually go online now and review what’s changing for next year and explore your options. We have some great enhancements for next year that I would like to share with you. CHI is increasing the HSA contribution from $500 to $600 this year for the individual and from $1,000 to $1,200 for the whole family. This enhancement, combined with $450 in potential wellness dollars for you and, new this year, your medical plan-enrolled spouse, adds up to a large amount of savings to defray your annual health care costs ...

Look Closely at Your Benefits as You Prepare for Annual Enrollment

Annual Enrollment arrives each fall, as predictable as pumpkin spice lattes. And looking at all of the choices is a lot more complicated than tall, grande or venti. That’s why we tend to put it off. But, Annual Enrollment is just around the corner, as John Petrov mentioned above, and the benefits you have now may not be the best fit for your needs next year. It’s time to take a look and be prepared to enroll beginning Oct. 10 ...

The original hospital location on 320 Linden Walk (near Rose and Maxwell Streets)

Happy Birthday, Saint Joseph Hospital!

Today marks the 141st anniversary of the founding of Saint Joseph Hospital. The hospital, which was the first in Lexington, was founded on Oct. 2, 1877, by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Pictured is the original location of the hospital on 320 Linden Walk (near Rose and Maxwell Streets) in a house that still stands today. In 1878, the Sisters moved the hospital to Second Street, where it remained until the 1959 move to our current location on Harrodsburg Road. On this special anniversary, let’s remember our mission, which the founding Sisters began, to care for all people in need, with dignity and respect.
