Mark Your Calendars:
KentuckyOne Health is hosting events at University of Louisville Hospital and Jewish Hospital later this April to honor organ donors who have given the gift of life. Employees are encouraged to attend.
April 24: Jewish Hospital Lobby, 12 p.m.
April 29: University of Louisville Hospital Donor Memorial, 1 p.m. (walkway between James Graham Brown Cancer Center and University of Louisville Hospital)
Become an Organ Donor:
There are currently more than 120,000 people waiting on the organ transplant list for a donor match and roughly 150 people are added to the list each day. Sadly, an average of 18 patients die every day waiting for a transplant because the organ they needed was not donated in time. A single donor can save or heal the lives of up to 50 people.
If you are a Kentucky resident, register to be an organ donor at DonateLifeKy.org. If you are a resident of another state, visit DonateLife.net to register.
