Women’s Wellness Affair to Raise Funds for Scholarships

Jewish Hospital Shelbyville
The upcoming Women’s Wellness Affair in Shelbyville will raise awareness about women’s health and funds for scholarships for high school students who are interested in the health care field.
The 12th annual Women’s Wellness Affair will be held on March 20 at Claudia Sanders Dinner House. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the evening will feature a health fair, delicious meal, keynote speaker and silent auction.
The evening will close with the presentation of the Body, Mind & Spirit Award. Arguably the highlight of the evening, the Body, Mind & Spirit Award is presented to a local woman who embodies wellness and is passionate about improving the health of others. Nominations come from the Volunteer Auxiliary at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.
Funds raised during the night support the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation, which will use them for scholarships for local high school students.
The Tools for Wellness
It’s no secret that women often put the health of others before their own. By connecting women with local vendors, the health fair provides resources that women can use to help prioritize their health.
Following the health fair and meal, Stephanie Mayfield Gibson, MD, vice president of population health at KentuckyOne Health and chief medical officer for KentuckyOne Health Partners, will give the 2017 keynote address.
