Our Lady of Peace
Our Lady of Peace will open the only pharmacist operated long-acting injection clinic at a behavioral health care center in the U.S. on March 7, 2017. The clinic is intended to integrate pharmacy practice with behavioral health specialists.
Getting off drugs and staying off drugs or adhering to prescribed medications for behavioral health conditions can be very difficult for individuals. The new clinic was established to help with this major issue.
Besides Vivitrol for alcoholics, opioid, and heroin addicts, the clinic offers long-acting injection antipsychotic (LAIA) medications for patients with schizoaffective disorders that are currently non-compliant with their orally prescribed products.
Many patients that suffer from schizoaffective disorders are not compliant with their medication therapy for a variety of reasons. So the clinic is offering a line of medications to help coordinate patient care with prescribers.
Staff includes two pharmacists and a medical access coordinator. To learn more, call Our Lady of Peace, 502.451.3330.
