KentuckyOne Health employees and dependents who use the Anthem Insurance CHI Medical Plan have all preventive services paid at 100 percent. These include:
- Biometric screenings
- Annual wellness exam with a primary care provider
- Annual screening mammogram
- A1C test for diabetics
- Annual influenza vaccine
These preventive wellness services are key to your and your family’s good health. Unfortunately, not all of our employees are taking advantage of the preventive services that are provided. Currently, only 66 percent of female KentuckyOne Health employees/covered dependents, age 50-74, have had a screening mammogram in the last 24 months. Of employees/covered dependents who have diabetes, only 83 percent have had the A1C test for long-term blood glucose control.
With our Employee Access Concierge Service access line – 844.595.3503 – employees receive preferred access to physician appointment scheduling for primary care visits including annual wellness exams. This benefit is available to our employees as part of our commitment to your health and wellness. Dial the access line and tell the guest service representative you are a KentuckyOne Health employee. You will be assisted in finding the best provider based on your primary care needs, and will receive the first available appointment with that primary care provider.
Remember, all employees and dependents using the Anthem Insurance CHI Medical Plan and selecting in-network coverage save money. In the current 2017 plan, there is NO DEDUCTIBLE when you use KentuckyOne Health Partners Enhanced CIN providers. To see a list of providers in the Enhanced CIN Network, visit KentuckyOneHealthPartners.org.
To schedule a screening mammogram, go to KentuckyOneHealth.org/mammogram to see a complete list of digital mammography locations at KentuckyOne Health facilities along with telephone numbers to call for scheduling.
Make certain these health screenings are a part of your
annual checklist, as appropriate:
Biometric screenings are offered at KentuckyOne Health facilities and at your primary care provider office, for a quick check of weight, cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure.
Wellness Exam with a Primary Care Provider
This important exam will create an annual personalized prevention plan through the completion of Health Risk Assessments and a review of things such as your medical history, medications and appropriate screenings.
Based on your medical history and primary care provider’s recommendation, most women begin annual breast cancer screening with mammograms between ages 40 to 44. At age 45, women should have a mammogram every year. At age 55, your primary care provider may recommend continuing yearly screenings or getting a mammogram every two years.
A1C Test for Diabetics
If you have diabetes, you should have an A1C test at least twice each year to find out your long-term blood glucose control. The A1C test measures your average blood glucose during the previous 2-3 months, but especially during the previous month. (Employee Diabetes Program – anyone who has diabetes covered under the CHI Medical Plan enrolls in pharmacist-led diabetes program and receives coverage for supplies and medications.)
Getting an annual flu vaccination not only protects you, but the people around you – including those who are vulnerable to serious illness such as babies, young children, the elderly and people with chronic health conditions.
