Kimberly Hatchel, DNP, RN, MHA, CENP, has been selected to become KentuckyOne Health's new chief nursing officer for the remaining operations.

Dr. Hatchel (Kim) brings 26 years of experience, including both patient care and innovative executive leadership. She joins KentuckyOne Health on March 5, 2018, from Las Vegas, Nevada, where she most recently served as the chief nursing officer (CNO) for Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and Sunrise Children's Hospital, a 690-bed acute care hospital that is part of the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) system. In 2017, she was awarded the Nurse Administrator of the Year by the March of Dimes in Las Vegas.

Prior to that, Kim served as the CNO at Medical City McKinney in Texas, where she was named one of the Top 25 Women in Business and the recipient of Studer's "What's Right in Health Care Award" for improvement in overall emergency services. She credits her experience at HCA's Clinical Services Group, as assistant CNO, where she developed her passion for hospital throughput and health information technology. She utilized this experience to implement organizational change, successfully improving throughput metrics and implementing an all-electronic documentation platform across more than 160 emergency departments.

Kim received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. Her master's degree in nursing and health care administration is from University of Phoenix and her doctorate in nursing practice is from Vanderbilt University.

Kim will reside in Harrodsburg with her husband, Stephen, and her son, Taylor, who attends Georgetown College. She also has two grown daughters, Nichole and Ivelisse, and three grandchildren.
