BlueMountain and KentuckyOne Health Negotiations Are Continuing

KentuckyOne Health Divesting Operations

By Chuck Neumann, Interim President and CEO KentuckyOne Health

As anticipated, rumors, speculation and media attention around the ongoing negotiations for the sale of the divesting operations continue to increase. Friday morning, another media article, citing unnamed sources, focused primarily on rumors and worst-case scenarios.

As I have said before, the only source of factual information is from those of us involved in the actual discussions. Let me start by clarifying one important point: We are not planning for the closure of Jewish Hospital.

Our purpose when we began the evaluation of potential buyers was to ensure the ongoing legacy, excellence and stability of the Louisville operations.

As we have stated many times before, BlueMountain and CHI/KentuckyOne Health remain active in discussions, and we hope to reach an agreement soon. The leadership teams of both organizations are meeting weekly, and sometimes more frequently.

As with any negotiation before a deal is finalized, contingency plans are necessary if we cannot reach an agreement. However, those contingency plans are still in development, and will continue to evolve.

In the meantime, we remain in active and positive discussions with BlueMountain Capital Management. When we reach a milestone in those discussions or a definitive agreement, I will share this information with you as soon as possible.

Please continue to focus on what you do so well every day and deliver excellent care to our patients.
