New Employee Benefit: Community Pharmacy Delivers, Helps Save on Costs

KentuckyOne employees in the central and eastern market have a new option for lowering the cost of maintenance medications such as those associated with diabetes.
The retail pharmacy at Saint Joseph East
can provide employees covered by the CHI health plan the maintenance medications at half the cost of the same medications at outside pharmacies, including the CVS/Caremark mail order. Some copays are even more significantly lower.
In addition, the pharmacy will deliver medications for pickup at the Saint Joseph Hospital pharmacy five days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Employees at Saint Joseph Hospital can usually receive next-day delivery – or within two to three days, depending on supply and time of prescription placement – at the hospital for prescriptions. The community pharmacy will deliver to Saint Joseph Hospital Monday through Friday; employees can pick up prescriptions at the hospital pharmacy between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The pharmacy is located on the ground floor, just past the cafeteria.
Employees outside the Lexington area
can have their prescriptions delivered to their homes; mail order is also available in the Lexington area.
Transferring a prescription to the retail pharmacy at Saint Joseph East is simple.
You’ll just need to provide the list of medications to the pharmacists there, who will work to get it transferred.
