Walk with a Doc this Spring 

Enjoy the blooms of spring while getting a dose of recommended exercise during KentuckyOne Health's Walk with a Doc events. These sessions are held monthly (on Saturdays) in Bardstown and Louisville. Walkers have the opportunity to learn about important health topics, walking side-by-side with experts, and they receive free health screenings, refreshments and giveaways. Upcoming events are April 11 in Bardstown and the Parklands, April 18 at Iroquois Park and April 25 at Shawnee Park.

Project Win to Start Late April / Early May 

Project Win, the CHI mandatory upgrade of all computers to Windows 7, Internet Explorer 9 and Office 2013, has been delayed in Kentucky. The new implementation start date will now be late April, early May for KentuckyOne facilities in the central and eastern market (Lexington, London, Martin, Berea, Mt. Sterling), as well as Bardstown and Erlanger. Louisville-market facilities will be included in a future wave of this project.

Now that spring has sprung, the first Healthy Spirit Challenge for this year is coming your way. This time it’s really all up to you! All employees across CHI, including KentuckyOne employees, will have the opportunity to vote on one Healthy Spirit Challenge as their favorite. The choices are a water challenge, a nutrition challenge, or a weight loss challenge. The challenge with the most votes across CHI will be the one chosen to be the first challenge of 2015. Voting begins TODAY, April 6, and will continue until Friday, April 17, at My Healthy Spirit

Nurse Heather Olivera Honored with Daisy Award at Saint Joseph Jessamine 

When emergency department nurse Heather Olivera helped to treat a two-year-old recently at Saint Joseph Jessamine, she said she thought she was just doing her job, what she does every day. But co-worker and ED nurse Patsy Fields felt Heather deserved to be honored for her outstanding work day in and day out; so she nominated Heather for a Daisy Award. Patsy, who is a previous Daisy Award winner herself, wrote in her nomination form about that day in the emergency department ...

Flaget Food Drive Helps Feed the Hungry 

Flaget Memorial Hospital raised 1,453 pounds of food this year for the St. Vincent De Paul Society. This is a remarkable effort and it is a 59 percent increase over last year’s food drive total. Numerous families will benefit from the donation. St. Vincent de Paul, located in Bardstown and operated by St. Joseph Church, serves the homeless and economically disadvantaged population through rent, utility and food assistance, as well as assistance with shelter, furniture, clothing and household items.

Thunder Over Louisville Tickets Available 

The Thunder Over Louisville Party – "Boom with a View" – offers employees the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular view of the fireworks and festivities for the annual kick-off event of Derby time in Louisville. The event is Saturday, April 18, on the rooftop of the Jewish Hospital employee parking garage (Muhammad Ali Blvd). Tickets are $5 each, available for purchase on the Employee Recognition Program site through payroll deduction only. The deadline for ticket purchase is April 10, or sooner if sold out.
