KentuckyOne Hospitals Help Save Lives in Jamaica

On July 31, Supplies Over Seas (SOS) loaded a container with medical supplies and sent it to Jamaica. The shipment cost was covered by Food for the Poor. The contents of the container will be shared with several hospitals and clinics in Jamaica whose clinicians are sorely in need of supplies to help them treat the poor. Loaded on that container were a number of items donated by KentuckyOne Health facilities.

Brave the Cold (water) and Raise Funds for ALS 

How would you like to cool off in this oppressive heat – and raise money for a good cause all at once? Several Saint Joseph London employees, including Dr. Abi Waqas, a hospitalist at the KentuckyOne facility, have braved the Ice Bucket Challenge, earning them loud applause from a delighted audience. The challenge raises money for ALS research. Employees across KentuckyOne are challenging each other to a cold splash (watch!).

Project Win Begins Soon at KentuckyOne 

Project Win, CHI’s enterprise-wide upgrade to the Windows 7 operating system, Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) and Office 2013, is coming soon to your computer. Starting Sept. 2, the Project Win team will be on-site in Kentucky to conduct data collection of all employee computers. The actual upgrades will begin on Sept. 22 in Lexington, followed by Mt. Sterling, Berea, Bardstown and London. Corbin, Martin and eastern Kentucky dates will be announced soon. Louisville-market facilities will be included in a future wave of this project.

It’s time to Race for the Cure – The Susan G. Komen 2014 Lexington race, whose proceeds provide free mammograms for women who can’t afford them, is set for Saturday, Oct. 4.
