Frazier Rehab Celebrates 60 Years

Amelia Brown Frazier created The Rehabilitation Center, Inc., in 1951–today known as Frazier Rehab Institute. After experiencing a car accident in 1929, Amelia traveled to New York to receive care at The Rusk Institute, a leader in an emerging field of physical medicine and rehab. As a woman of vision, using her resources and influence, she set out to create a comparable facility in her hometown so that others could have their needs met at home in Louisville.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, Frazier Rehab Institute will celebrate 60 years of providing those in Louisville and beyond with world class care. Employees are invited to join in the celebration at a special reception (including delicious cake) in the lobby of Frazier Rehab from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Volunteers Make Holiday Hats for Saint Joseph London Newborns

Ten “crafty” ladies have been crocheting hats and mittens for the babies born at Saint Joseph London. The women get together and crochet for the newborns at “Handmade for You,” a local business which sells craft supplies. When it comes to the newborns, every bit of their time and their yarn is donated. Recently, Saint Joseph London Volunteer Coordinator Jo Smith approached the women about creating the caps and mittens in Christmas colors. In a flash, the crochet crew had made the change, which is how 16 infants in the nursery came to look like holiday bundles.
