KentuckyOne Celebrates Martin Luther King Day 

KentuckyOne Health will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., through several events this January.
At Jewish Hospital, on Friday, Jan. 17, the Diversity Council invites all to its presentation of “Civil Rights and the Arts” at 12 p.m. in the Rudd, Heart & Lung Building. Biometric Screenings Announced for Louisville Market; Earn Wellness Points 

Through our free and confidential health screenings, employees can learn their health numbers and risks. These screenings are being offered as part of our 2014 CHI Healthy Spirit wellness program. Employees and spouses who are covered by the CHI Medical Plan can each receive a premium discount of $50 per quarter. Register for the screenings through the My Healthy Spirit website

Employees Receive Certification for Specialized Cancer Rehab Program 

Approximately 50 employees from Frazier Rehab Institute and Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital received certification to offer a nationally recognized program focused on caring for cancer survivors. Saint Joseph Cancer Rehab, also part of KentuckyOne Health, was the first organization to receive STAR Program certification in Kentucky.

June 14 is New Go-Live Date for Cerner Wave 3 Facilities 

The new go-live date for KentuckyOne Health’s OneCare Cerner Wave 3 facilities is Saturday, June 14, 2014. This date will allow the Cerner Wave 3 project team to complete additional coordinated planning with the ICD-10 project team without placing further resource demands on these critical concurrent projects. In addition, this extra time will be used for the Cerner upgrade.

McKesson STAR Successfully Upgraded for ICD-10 

On Dec. 3, McKesson STAR, the health information system many Lexington and Louisville facilities use for patient admission, registration and other revenue cycle processes, was successfully upgraded to an ICD-10 compliant version. Thank you to everyone who lent their support and expertise and worked hard to make this a seamless go-live for users.

It’s located under the My Pay tab in HR/Payroll Connection. You must go in and provide consent by 9 p.m. ET Jan. 12 in order to view online – 2013 W-2s will be available Jan. 17 if you go in and provide consent. If employees provided consent in a prior year, they do not need to do so again. Please note: W-2s for ULH/JGBCC employees will not be available through HR/Payroll Connection until next year.

Truman Esmond, Jr., Named Interim CFO for KentuckyOne Health 

KentuckyOne has named Truman Esmond, Jr., interim chief financial officer for the statewide system. During his 30-plus years of experience in the health care industry, Truman has held executive leadership positions in large multi-hospital systems, with experience in both the academic and community setting. Truman, a CPA, excels at health care financial and operations leadership. Read more

More Volunteers Needed for Habitat Home Build in Louisville

KentuckyOne is sponsoring the build of a Portland neighborhood home for Angel Richardson (pictured), who is working to fulfill her dream of home ownership for herself and her son. Help KentuckyOne build a healthier community by volunteering Feb. 6, 7 or 8 to raise the roof on this Habitat for Humanity home in Louisville.

So far, 11 people have signed up and 19 are still needed! The goal is to have 10 people volunteering per day. Sign up at Family members and friends are welcome.
