SafetyFirst Great Catch: Sharon Bates 

Sharon Bates, RN, a staff nurse with Saint Joseph Martin, was passing medications when she noticed that an order for a patient’s medicine, Klonopin, specified an unusually high dose: 5 mg. three times daily. A normal dose is more like .5 mg. three times per day. The difference would have been 15 mg. total taken within one day – instead of 1.5 mg. taken during one day.

Project Win to Take a Pause  

Project Win, CHI's enterprise-wide upgrade to Windows 7, Internet Explorer 9 and Office 2013, will be paused within the next 30 days. The Project Win team is encountering systems and applications in CHI's MBOs that don’t work with the upgrade. Finding fixes for these problems has increased the cost and complexity of the project.

At-home Colon Cancer Screening Option Now Covered by Employee Health Plan 

A new at-home colon cancer screening test is now available with no out-of-pocket costs to KentuckyOne Health employees insured by Anthem through CHI. The test, called Cologuard, is available for people 50 years and older who are at average risk for colorectal cancer. It is an easy-to-use screening test that can be done at home.
