Print your 2014 pay stubs before June 19. (They will not be available in the new system.)

Saint Joseph London Assembles Green Team, Great Garden 

Saint Joseph London has formally assembled its Green Team. That means that a large percentage of the waste that was not being recycled will now stay out of the landfill. Sharon Shepherd, a health care sustainability specialist with Stericycle, was on hand April 24 for Saint Joseph London’s official “Going Green” kickoff. “The Green Team, led by Dr. Shelley Stanko, has grown to 12 people, and they are people with a great deal of motivation,” Sharon said.

Calling All Bikers to the Bike MS Event: Bluegrass, Bikes, Bourbon & BBQ 

Brad Kruer, MPT, the outpatient director for Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital and Frazier Rehab in Indiana, is challenging other KentuckyOne employees to join the Bike MS ride and raise money to help end the suffering of MS patients. KentuckyOne is a $5,000 sponsor of the ride. Bike MS starts on Saturday, June 27, and runs through Sunday, June 28. Riders will meet at Louisville Water Tower Park and choose from several different route options.

SafetyFirst Great Catch: Terri Hiner 

A 28-year-old woman arrived in the emergency department (ED) at Medical Center Jewish Southwest complaining of pain in the right side of her chest. The ED physician ordered a CT scan of the chest to check for a possible pulmonary embolus. Thanks to CT technologist Terri Hiner’s questioning attitude, and her use of the ARCC technique, it was discovered that the patient only needed a chest x-ray. The patient was spared the extra radiation exposure ...
