Jewish Hospital Performs 200th Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement 

The Jewish Hospital Heart Valve Team performed its 200th Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure on June 18. TAVR is a revolutionary, minimally-invasive heart procedure for patients with severe aortic stenosis, a narrowing of the aortic valve.

Connie Banks, RN, Saint Joseph Hospital, has been honored as one of the latest recipients of the Daisy Award. Connie, who works on the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, was nominated by a patient’s family member, who said Connie is “a blessing to families and to your hospital.”

A Celebration of Life 

KentuckyOne Health Cancer Care at Saint Joseph East invited staff, patients, families and friends to gather in celebration of life on National Cancer Survivors Day, June 7. Those attending released balloons in honor of survivors and planted a tree in remembrance of a recent patient in the hospital's Beth Broderson-Bray Memorial Garden.
