Simple, Frequent Recognition Boosts Frazier Employees 

Employee recognition doesn’t have to be fancy or budget busting, says Kelly Kennedy, director, Outpatient Services at Frazier Rehab Institute. “We’re a warm and fuzzy team; the little stuff keeps us going,” Kelly said. Improving employee pride and recognition is a Performance Culture Assessment/Culture of Safety goal for some of the Frazier locations. Employees noted on last year’s PCA that they would appreciate more recognition and celebrations — and time to enjoy them. Three new activities are helping Frazier achieve the recognition goal.

On March 18, KentuckyOne Health and Walgreens announced a clinical collaboration agreement that will provide coordinated and expanded health care services, while improving access to high-quality, convenient and affordable care for patients in the Louisville and southern Indiana area. KentuckyOne Health plans to expand this type of service to central and eastern Kentucky in the future.

Corporate Responsibility Annual Education Deadline is Fast-Approaching 

Workforce education is an important component of our Corporate Responsibility Program. Annually, KentuckyOne Health employees are required to complete compliance education, which is offered as web-based training courses through LEARN. Each employee (hired before July 1, 2013) has been assigned two courses; the deadline for completion of both courses is March 31. Per CHI policy, employees who fail to complete this required education by the deadline will be suspended without pay until it is completed.

Wii Bowling at KentuckyOne Louisville Hospitals to Support Junior Achievement 

For the first time ever, KentuckyOne hospitals will be raising funds for Junior Achievement (JA), the nonprofit organization that teaches financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness to more than 56,000 area students. Facilities including Our Lady of Peace, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and Jewish Hospital will support JA through an on-site Wii Bowling Tournament, using an NCAA March Madness-type bracket format. The games kick off March 28 at Our Lady of Peace.

The President’s Circle luncheon on March 6 honored KentuckyOne employees who made a gift of more than $500 to the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation during the “Perfect Gift” employee campaign. Saint Joseph Jessamine was applauded as the facility with the highest percentage of employees participating in the campaign. Adam Gossom accepted the traveling trophy on behalf of the employees at Saint Joseph Jessamine.
