Tips for Staying Secure and Smart on
Social Media

To help protect our patients, Always Think Before You Post: all patient information that you might have access to, learn about, or use in your job must be protected by you, during and after the work day.

• Never post or share any patient-related information on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media forum.

• Never take photographs or videos of patients on your cell phone, and never post any patient-related images.

• Never discuss patients or hospital events that might identify patients on social media, including Internet chat rooms.
