Open Enrollment Under Affordable Care Act Underway
For Information
Tuesday marked the beginning of enrollment for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. The CHI Outreach & Enrollment page on Inside CHI has information to help educate patients, families and communities about health insurance marketplaces and the enrollment process. These resources will help CHI organizations and employees reach out to people who are uninsured and make them aware of affordable coverage options. Access and coverage for all has been a top priority for CHI for more than a decade. Health care reform helps move CHI closer to that goal.

iOS 7 Email and Calendar Issues
Urgent Action: Wait to upgrade to Apple iOS 7
While Apple’s new iOS 7 upgrade for the iPhone and iPad provides many enhancements, users at CHI and across the nation are experiencing problems receiving emails and viewing calendars and contacts. Users may be unable to connect to CHI's Exchange server to send and receive email; may have a security certificate pop-up; or may have calendar problems such as missing items, synchronization issues, and other malfunctions. CHI is asking iPhone and iPad users to wait to upgrade until these issues are resolved by Apple.

Users who upgraded to iOS 7 should download the iOS 7.0.2 update that came out Sept. 26, which addresses a “lock screen” bug. To find it, go to "Settings," "General," "Software Update."

Users who experience email and calendar issues from the upgrade can try this workaround:

• Go to "Settings," "Wi-Fi," select the active CHI network, then choose “Forget this Network.” Repeat for all connected wireless networks that begin with “chi.”
• Select the “chistandard” network, then log in with your CHI Active Directory credentials. A request to accept the wireless certificate will appear.
• Select "Accept" to continue.

For assistance, contact the ITS Service Desk, 866.236.0441, and let the analyst know you upgraded your device to iOS 7.

Prevent IT Equipment Lockouts
Action: Remember to update your password on all IT and mobile devices
Every time users change their CHI Active Directory (AD) passwords (used to log in to CHI computers, Inside CHI, webmail and Standard Time and Attendance; and, to access CHI email, calendar and contacts on mobile devices), they must also update their passwords on their mobile devices (smartphones, iPads/tablets). If not, users will be locked out of their CHI AD accounts after their mobile devices try to access the CHI Exchange server three times using an old password.

A tip for users is to turn off their mobile device(s) before resetting a password. This ensures adequate time to reset the device(s) without the risk of being locked out.

Users can use the CHI Password tool to unlock their accounts or change their passwords themselves. This requires a one-time, online registration. Once registered, users can Access CHI Password online or by phone 24x7. Instructions for using CHI Password are available in the Information Resources box on the right side of the CHI Password page of Inside CHI. To access CHI Password by phone or for more information, contact the ITS Service Desk, 866.236.0441 or 720.875.7500 (in Denver).
