Plan to Attend an Employee Forum to Preview Benefits for 2014

Forums are being held across KentuckyOne, starting next week, to introduce the KentuckyOne benefit plan for 2014. Invitations will be sent from your local leader. The schedule of forums is available at KentuckyOne Online. Employees who do not have a site-specific forum scheduled (such as 4th Street in Louisville) are invited to attend a forum at a nearby facility. CHS and CHI national employees, as well as Aramark, Conifer and other contract employees do not need to attend.

Following these introductory sessions, more detailed benefits information will be provided during open enrollment and beyond.

St. Vincent-Little Rock CPE Work Off to a Good Start
For Information
In 12 weeks since the launch of Clinical and Process Excellence (CPE) at St. Vincent Infirmary, Little Rock, AR, teams of front-line clinicians and physicians have designed and launched process changes and improvements – such as improved door-to-doc times in the ED and improved accuracy and timeliness in OR scheduling – that are improving patient safety and the physician experience. These initiatives are also projected to provide $7 million in cost savings and increased revenue during FY14.

All seven inpatient areas of focus – emergency department, patient length of stay, ICU, access, blood utilization, operating room and outmigration – have achieved dramatic improvement.

CPE, part of CHI’s Clinical and Operational Excellence Initiative, focuses on improving clinical operations and reducing costs through process improvements, reduction in clinical variation and elimination of waste and duplication. Additional information is available on Inside CHI.
