Exceptional Employees Doing Exceptional Things!
Monday, September 16, 2019
KentuckyOne Health Louisville Region is home to over 5,000 employees who do amazing work every day taking care of our patients and their families. When not here, our employees do exceptional things away from work – serving on community boards, competing in sporting competitions, leading at their place of worship, running small businesses, and more.
Maggie Bannigan, OT, is one of those exceptional employees. When not at work, Maggie is leading and promoting All Abilities Bootcamp, a class for children with "ALL abilities."
Role at KentuckyOne Health: Occupational Therapist, Frazier Rehab at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital
When did you begin working at KentuckyOne Health: March 2018
Exceptional Activity: All Abilities Bootcamp is a class for children with ALL abilities. The bootcamp allows children who may not have the same sport opportunities as their peers a chance to engage in physical activity, team-building, and socialization activities to build a sense of confidence, self-empowerment, and strength.
When you began that activity: May 2019
How did you get started: Self-marketing to parent and support groups on Facebook
Greatest achievement so far: Having a mother tell me, "To find something like this that my son actually likes feels like Christmas to me! Thank You!"
Goal: Continue bootcamp classes weekly and progress to adding a second weekly class
Personal hero/mentor: Margaret Ladyman, OT
Personal motto: "People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." - Maya Angelou
