Monday, October 07, 2019
KentuckyOne Health has received a grant to serve as the "backbone agency" for Mayor Greg Fischer's Trauma Informed Care initiative. Through this work, all nonprofit caregivers in Louisville will be educated on the evidence-based intervention strategy of trauma informed care.
Rabbi Dr. Nadia Siritsky, Dr. Abbey Roach, and Kelly Gillooly have served on the executive leadership steering committee and have received training. A number of other KentuckyOne leaders will serve as "Master Trainers," including Dr. Whitney Rebholz, Frazier Rehab lnstitute, Courtenay Aguayo, Our Lady of Peace, and Rev. Dr. Richard Underwood, Jewish Hospital.
Through this effort, the Mayor plans to better align work of city and community organizations to promote healing and recovery from race-based trauma, community violence, and unrest in West and South Louisville.
