KentuckyOne Health boasts two winners in the 2013 MediStar Awards, held by IGE Media. KentuckyOne's Telehealth Primary Care Clinics were honored with the Governor’s “Dignity of Humanity” Award for extending access to care for Kentucky’s most underserved communities in Powell and Wolfe counties. Dr. Goetz Kloecker, of the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, and patient Nancy Alvey were honored with the Seven Counties Services Health Care Advocacy Award for establishing a cancer screening program at the University of Louisville Hospital as a model for other local and regional hospitals.
In addition to the KentuckyOne Health finalists, The Cardiovascular Innovation Institute (CII), a joint initiative between the University of Louisville and Jewish Hospital, brought home two awards: 1) the Middleton Reutlinger Facility Design Award; 2) and the Crowe Horwath Innovation Award, which is presented to an individual or organization that has positively impacted health care delivery costs through the development, design or implementation of new technology.
